Salem State Drives Past Elms 16-5

SALEM, Mass. -- Salem State continued their impressive opening to the 2025 season as the Vikings took care of Elms 15-6 on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field. Salem State (2-0) has now outscored their opponents 34-6 over their first two games. The Blazers now go to 0-1 to start their season. Kaylee Rich once again led the way for the Vikings with a four-goal effort. Siobhan Smith - 3 goals, 1 assist, Megan Parthum - 3 goals, and Laura Young - 1 goal, 3 assists spearheaded Salem State's offensive production.

Greta Frankwicz totaled three goals for Elms while Jackie Cronin chipped in with three goals and two assists. 

How it Happened

  • Salem State's offense put up three unanswered goals to start the game as RichAnna Latta and Megan Parthum gave the Vikings a 3-0 first quarter lead.
  • Rich and Parthum added a pair of goals as Salem State ran their streak to 10 straight scores before Frankwicz finally put Elms on the scoreboard with 1:40 left in the second. Jordan Turcotte answered for the Vikings right before halftime as Salem State exited the first half with an 11-1 lead.
  • The Blazers' Cronin made it 11-2 early in the third, but Laura Young and Aislinn Bennett countered for Salem State to push the lead to 13-2 in the third.  
  • Frankwicz added a pair of scores for Elms in the fourth while Smith and Rich tallied goals for Salem State. Cronin capped the scoring with a goals in the final two minutes, making the final 16-5. 
  • Nora Bradley (2-0) earned the win making three saves.
  • Marisa LaRocque (0-1) made seven saves in the loss. 

Salem State goes to the University of New England this Wednesday, March 5 for a 4:00 pm game.
