Salem State Hands Franklin Pierce 4-0 Loss

WINCHENDON, Mass. -- Four different goal scorers helped Salem State shutout Franklin Pierce 4-0 at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena on Tuesday evening. The Vikings even their record at 3-3 while the Ravens remain winless at 0-7.

How it Happened:

  • Seamus Cummings scored his first career goal at 9:52 of the first, giving Salem State a 1-0 lead.  
  • Later, Landyn Greatorex converted a power play opportunity for the Vikings who led 2-0 after one period.
  • Rais Francis added Salem State's third unanswered goal at 9:08 of the third to extend their lead to 3-0.  
  • Davis Kinne capped the scoring with a goal at the 10:36 mark of the third.

Inside the Numbers:

  • Hunter Thomas (1-1) earned the win making 31 saves.
  • Riley Mastowski (0-2) suffered the loss with 25 saves in 29 attempts.
  • James Tatro added a pair of assists in the contest.
  • Cummings, Francis and Kinne all recorded their first career goals for Salem State.
