Ravens Blanked by Vikings, 4-0

WINCHENDON, Mass. (11/19/24) – The Salem State Vikings proved to be too much for the Franklin Pierce Ravens men's hockey team to handle on Tuesday night, as they fell 4-0 at home in non-conference play.  

Score: Salem State 4, Franklin Pierce 0 

Records: Franklin Pierce (0-7-0, 0-4-0 NE-10), Salem State (3-3-0, 2-1-0 MASCAC) 

Location: Jason Ritchie Ice Arena, Winchendon, Mass.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Vikings struck first 9:52 into the first period. Seamus Cummings fired a blast from the top of the blue line and buried it to put the Vikings up 1-0.  

  • The Vikings padded their lead with a late goal with just 2:43 remaining in the period. Landyn Greatorex capitalized on the power play to give the Vikings the 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.  

  • It didn't take long for the Vikings to pick up right where they left off in the second period. Rais Francis sniped a shot from the slot to make it 3-0 Vikings.  

  • Just 6:28 later, the Vikings capped off their dominant win with a goal courtesy of David Kinne. 

 

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Ravens outshot the Vikings 31-29. 

  • Sophomore goaltender Riley Mastowski (Jamestown, Pa.) got the start in net but suffered the loss, making 25 saves.  

  • The Ravens went 0-4 on the power play compared to the Vikings going 1-1 on the power play.
