Snow Sinks Six Triples En Route to 91-75 Victory Over Rams

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Salem State men's basketball evened their season series with Framingham State University this afternoon, securing a 91-75 victory to improve to 9-12 on the season and 6-2 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) play.

Omri Merryman (Lynn, Mass.) and Jarnel Snow (Lynn, Mass.) led the Vikings, scoring 23 and 22 points, respectively. Snow set a career high with six three-pointers in his performance. Tyrese Rho (Boston, Mass.) contributed 17 points and four assists, while Steven Jean-Louis (Charlestown, Mass.) added 10 points off the bench.

For the Rams, Joshua-Daniel Okafor recorded 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Joshua Saint Jean also posted a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

How it Happened:

  • The lead exchanged hands several times early in the first half until the Rams established their largest lead of the afternoon with a three-pointer, taking a 24-17 advantage with 7:55 left. The Vikings quickly countered with a 14-2 run, flipping the script and taking a five-point lead, 30-25, with 4:04 remaining.
  • The Vikings maintained their lead heading into halftime, using free throws and another Snow three-pointer to push their advantage to double-digits at 41-31.
  • Merryman and Jean-Louis led the charge for the Vikings, scoring 10 of their team's first 12 points in the opening five minutes of the second half, helping to build a 17-point lead at 53-36.
  • Soon after, Snow heated up, hitting three consecutive three-pointers to extend the Vikings' lead to 74-45 with 8:49 left in the game. The Rams managed to cut the deficit to 15 points with five minutes remaining, but the Vikings' lead proved insurmountable, and that would be as close as they'd get before Salem secured the 91-75 victory.

Inside the Numbers:

  • Jarnel Snow's six three-pointers this afternoon marked the first time since the 2022 season that a player has hit six or more threes in a single game for the Vikings.
  • Snow and Steven Jean-Louis continue to be key contributors off the bench for the Vikings. Snow recorded a career-high 22 points today, while Jean-Louis posted his second double-figure game of the season.
