Fisher Comes Away With 3-0 Win

BOSTON -- Salem State travelled to Fisher for a non-conference match-up on Friday evening at Pappas Gymnasium in Brookline. The Falcons won in three sets (25-18, 25-6, 25-15) to improve to 19-13 on the year. The Vikings are now 2-20.
How it Happened:
- Presley Shairs racked up five first set kills, but Fisher used a 10-4 run to pull away for a 25-18 victory. Leading 15-14, the Falcons reeled off four straight points as Salem State struggled offensively. A service ace by Edsyl Irizarry and a kill by Caroline Saucier made it 22-17 before three more attack errors by the Vikings, who hade nine in the set, gave the win to Fisher.
- The Falcons front line hit .360% in set two as Fisher dominated, winning 25-6. Edsyl Irizarry produced four service aces as the Falcons opened up a 10-0 lead. Two kills by Saucier made it 12-2 before three straight kills by Mayouri Yath, Paola Velazquez and Alicia Tkach ended the set.
- Once again the Fisher opened up a huge lead early as another kill from Yath gave the Falcons a 10-5 lead. The advantage grew to 19-10 after another kill from Velazquez. Fisher committed just five errors in the final set before clinching the match with a 10-point victory.
Inside the Numbers:
- Shairs had seven kills for Salem State while Kailey Roche had 11 digs.
- Eva Haralabatos tallied 11 assists and six digs for the Vikings.
- Saucier had nine kills for Fisher to lead all players. Irizarry tallied 21 digs and six aces.
- Velazquez produced 11 assists and seven digs.
