Wentworth Prevails 3-0 Over Salem State
BOSTON -- Wentworth defeated Salem State on Friday evening at Tansey Gymnasium in three sets (25-14, 25-14, 25-15) to raise their record to 10-5 on the season. The Vikings slip to 2-11.
HOW IT HAPPENED

A balanced attack by the Leopards helped them build a 17-11 lead in set one, producing 10 kills in 24 attempts. Wentworth ripped off a 6-0 run to start and never trailed. Salem State fought back, making the score 11-9 in favor of the Leopards following a killl by Kayla Sullivan, but Wentworth scored eight-of-the-next-nine points, to pull ahead 19-12. A service ace by Abby Maher secured the 25-14 win.

Once again the Leopards jumped out to an early lead, going on top 6-0 after a service ace by Helen Barthe. A kill by Savannah Morford and a service ace by Lexi Zabloudil put Wentwoth in the lead by a score of 15-7. Back-to-back aces by Kinsey Lutz pushed the advantage to 23-10 before Wentworth won 25-14.

A Haley Phillips kill gave the Vikings a 10-8 lead in set three. However, the Leopards went on a 10-0 run thanks to three aces by Kayla DeCastro and a pair of kills by Lutz and Clairissa Taylor. Back-to-back kills by Savannah Morford gave Wentworth a 21-10 lead as the Leopards went on to win 25-15.

Becca Lowder produced a game-high 14 digs and Zabloudil 12 assists for Wentworth.

Phillips led Salem State with seven kills and added six digs. Celia Carbone had 10 assists and Kailey Roche finished with 10 assists.
