Rams Cruise to 3-0 Victory Over Salem State
SALEM, Mass. -- Suffolk defeated Salem State, 3-0 on Tuesday evening at Pieri Gymnasium. Behind the strong play of McKenna Keowen - 14 kills, seven digs, - the Rams defeated the Vikings by set scores of, 25-10, 25-9, 25-18. Suffolk remains unbeaten on the season at 6-0 while Salem State goes to 2-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Suffolk registered 16 kills in 24 attempts for a .542% hitting percentage in the first set. Three early kills by Mckenna gave Suffolk a 5-2 lead. A 10-3 run by the Rams punctuated by two quick aces from Tatum Kalt grew the score to 15-5. Suffolk scored the final five points to win going away, 25-15.

The Vikings hit just -.250% in set two as the Rams never trailed. Leading 9-4, Keown scored four-of-the-next-five points off the attack to increase the lead to 14-4. The Vikings managed just five points the rest of the way, committing five attack errors and three service errors in the loss.

The Rams secured the win in set three, erasing a 12-6 deficit to win 25-18. Suffolk was aided again by poor hitting from the Vikings, who managed jut seven kills in 27 attempts (.074%).

Jayla Martinez had a match-high 21 assists for Suffolk.

Morgan Kelsey contributed 10 digs and two aces for the Rams.

Celia Carbone had eight assists and four digs for Salem State.
