SALEM, Mass. – Curry posted two wins over Salem State and Lesley in a tri-meet hosted by the Vikings on Saturday afternoon at Twohig Gymnasium. Curry evens their record at 10-10, defeating Salem State 25-20, 25-7 and 25-12 and the Lynx 25-9, 25-8 and 25-10 . Salem State (4-13) split their two matches, defeating Lesly (0-12), 25-7,  25-9 and 25-12.

Curry broke open a first close set, as back-to-back kills by Lauren Guzman (Cranston, R.I.)

and Lexi Pereira (Attleboro, Mass.) gave the Colonels a 10-8 lead. Consecutive kills by Guzman

gave Curry an 18-13 lead. Another kill by Rachel Damstra (Houston, Texas) pushed the lead to 21-14 before Amanda Wood (Tokyo, Japan) ended the set with two more of Curry's set-high 18 kills.

The Colonels hit .367 in set two, committing just two errors as they easily dispatched the Vikings. Curry opened up a 7-1 lead on the serve of Wood. Consecutive aces by Avia Fraine (Mattapoisett, Mass.) made the score 16-4. Curry closed out the set strong, forging out seven kills, including three from Pereira.

Salem State regrouped in set three, and following poor hitting by Curry, trailed just 12-10. Kills by Wood and Pereira pushed the score to 18-12 before two service aces by Faith Herity (River Edge, N.J.) and a kill by Pereira gave the set and match to the Colonels.

Pereira racked up 21 kills,15 digs and three aces while Brooke Reissfelder (Biddeford, Maine) added 40 assists and 10 digs. Guzman finished with 11 kills and six digs.

Eva Haralabatos (Melrose, Mass.) led Salem State with 12 assists and eight digs. Danielle Sheehan (Walpole, Mass.) had four kills and seven digs while  Pamela Diaz (Lynn, Mass.) posted 14 digs.

The Colonels hit .333% in an easy 25-9 set one win over the Lynx. Guzman and Pereira led the attack, combining for six kills. Curry bolted out to a 14-4 lead after opening the game on a 9-1 run. Ferrara chipped in with three aces as the Colonels' lead grew to 23-8 before an error and a kill by Guzman ended the set in favor of Curry 25-9.

The Colonels continued to dominate is set two, hitting .478% while compiling 12 kills with just one error. Herity secured four aces for Curry early as the Colonels took a 5-2 lead. Leading 11-3, Curry used a 9-2 run to build a commanding 20-5 lead following a kill by Jenna Cotter (Watertown, Mass.).  A kill by Herity ended the match 25-8 in favor of Curry.

Curry jumped out to an 11-3 lea after an ace by Amanda Anderson (Hanson, Mass.). Seven straight points by Curry extended the lead to 20-7 after an ace by Lexie Jenkins (Burns, Wyo.) as Curry used eight aces in the final set to secure a 25-10 win.

Jenkins (6 aces, 10 digs) and Herity (7 aces) led the Colonels as Curry finished with 24 aces in the three-game set. Freeara posted six kills while Rachel Damstra (Houston, Texas,) had 12 assists and five kills.

Sydney Hart (Stafford, Va.) topped Lesley with seven kills and 12 digs. Tallin Goldberg (Merrimack, N.H.) added five assists and five digs.

Haralabatos set a new Salem State record with 13 aces in the three- set win as Salem State accumulated 29 points, the second most by a Vikings squad, off the serve in the win over the Lynx.

Abigail O'Connor (Gilford, N.H.) racked up five kills in a 25-7 set one win for Salem State. Back-to-back kills by O'Connor and two of the Vikings' nine aces from Dawn Eisnor (Medford, Mass.) gave Salem State a 17-3 lead. Hart added three kills for Lesley before a service error and ace by Haralabatos ended the set.

Salem State opened set two, hitting .667%, as the Vikings opened the set on an 19-0 run as Haralabatos accounted for 12 of the points on aces. Back-to-back kills by Hart broke the string before Salem State settled for a 25-9 victory.

Salem State once again got off to a quick start, building a 16-7 lead. Two kills form O'Connor pushed the lead to 20-8 before Salem State ended the game on an ace by Sheehan.

O'Connor finished with a set-high 11 kills. Haralabatos added 10 assists while Michelle Le (Woburn, Mass.) and Diaz each added seven digs.

Hart led Lesley with 14 kills and eight digs. Goldberg added nine assists and six digs.
