Two back-to-back kills by freshman Shaelyn Thornton (Scarborough, ME.) started out the first set of the match. A three-point run consisting of a kill by junior Ameesah Cotten (Newburgh, N.Y.), a serving ace by freshman Ally Majenski (Marshfield, Mass.) and another kill, this time by junior Olivia Werner (Williston, VT) gave the Chargers an 8-3 lead in which they kept for the remaining of the set. Back-to back kills started the second from both Thornton and junior Mia Harmon (Concord, N.H.), assisted by senior captain Anna Allen (Los Angeles, CA). The Vikings answered back with a kill of their own to get themselves on the scoreboard. Both teams went point-for-point for the remaining of the set with the Chargers maintaining the lead. A three-point run sparked by an overpowering attack from junior Ava LaValle (Peabody, Mass.) separated the Chargers from the Vikings putting Colby-Sawyer ahead. A kill by Abigail O'Connor (Gilford, N.H.) made it 15-10, but another 13 total kills were earned during the third set which contributed to their 25-15 victory, giving the Chargers the 3-0 win for the match.
