Plymouth State Clips Vikings

PLYMOUTH, N.H. -- Plymouth State won four-of-six singles matches to earn a hard fought, 5-4 victory over Salem State in a the Little East regular season finale for both teams on Saturday at Bank of New Hampshire Field House. The win gives the Panthers the fourth seed in the upcoming Little East post-season tournament as they finish their slate with a record of 5-5 and 4-4 LEC mark. Salem State ends with a 7-5 record and 4-4 LEC mark. Salem State earns the fifth seed in the LEC Tournament and will face the Panthers in a quarterfinal rematch at Plymouth State on Tuesday, October 15.
Madison Sartori / Kenzie McLaren and Ryann Tripp / Alanna Bonneau earned doubles wins for the Vikings at No. 1 and No. 3. Sartori / McLaren won, 8-2 over Chloe Ahern / Tessa LaBarre and Tripp / Bonneau beat Maddie Lorenz / Sofia Orama, 8-6.
Sartori also picked up her eighth victory of the regular season (8-4), winning No. 1 singles, 7-5, 6-4 over Ahern. Erin Curristin won at No. 5 with a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Lorenz.
