Salem State Wins 5-4 Over Lesley

SALEM, Mass. -- Abigail Laliberte's three set win at No. 4 singles clinched a 5-4 victory for Salem State over Lesley at The Central Campus Tennis Courts on Wednesday afternoon. The Vikings win their second straight to improve to 2-1 on the year while the Lynx go to 1-3.  

Tied at three sets apiece, Laliberte defeated Anna Stamp, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 to secure the win for the Vikings, who took four-of-six singles matches. Ryann Tripp eaned a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 3 singles while Erin Curristin and Alanna Zaldivar earned straight set shutouts at No. 5 and No. 6 singles respectively, winning 6-0, 6-0 over Tali-Anna Sutherland and Pamela Manriquez.

Lesley won two-of-three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. Mary Osucha / Lucy Boyce defeated Madison Sartori / Kenzie McLaren at No. 1 doubles, 8-2 while Jessica Legendre / Ariane Ramos beat Laliberte / Curristin, 8-4 at No. 2 doubles. Tripp / Alanna Bonneau earned the lone point for the Vikings, winning, 8-3 over Stamp / Sutherland at No. 3 doubles.
