Westfield, Mass. – Salem State took a 1-0 lead early in the first, but six unanswered goals spurred Westfield State to a 6-1 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) victory over Salem State in the regular season finale for both teams. The victory pushed the Owls (13-4-1) to a perfect 7-0 in MASCAC play as they enter postseason play with the top seed in the conference tournament with an eight-game winning streak after a perfect month of October. Salem State finished conference play 3-4, earning the fifth seed in the MASCAC Tournament going 4-12 overall.

First-year forward Delaney Parker (Orange, Mass.) scored her fourth hat-trick of the season.

The Vikings opened up the scoring in the 12th minute as first-year forward Jasmine Moran (Falmouth, Mass.) touched the ball past an Owls defender, and beat goalkeeper Lauryn Davis (Templeton, Mass.) on a shot labeled in the top left corner for her team-leading eighth goal of the year.

After numerous scoring chances, the Owls broke through in the 33rd minute where senior Jenn Rennich (Bedford, Mass.) directed a ball to the outside where Parker collected and fired a rocket into the upper right corner to tie the game.

The flood gates opened from there as Rennich headed a ball to first-year Bella Parrotte (East Greenbush, N.Y.) who beat Vikings keeper Lily Pfefferle (St. Paul, Minn.) to take the lead heading into the half.

In the second half, Parker added the opening goal at the 48th minute, and then the finishing one at the 71st minute to run her goal total up to 29 on the season. The three goal performance set the all-time school record for goals in a single-season, passing hall of famer Dennis Dugas' previous mark of 26. Rennich would also climb in the record books as her assist to junior Kylee Murphy (Haverhill, Mass.) tied her on the single-season assist list at 15 (tying Brittanie McGregor '12, Leann Rivard '11, and Kate MacLellan '09). Rennich would also tally her 14th goal of the season later in the half, adding to a three assist game.

Westfield State held the advantage in shots (32-2) and shots on goal (11-1). Pfefferle made five saves for the Vikings.
