Moran's Overtime Goal Leads to Win Over Rivier

NASHUA, N.H. - Jasmin Moran scored with just 11 seconds remaining in the second overtime to send Salem State home with a 2-1 victory over Rivier at Raiders Field on Tuesday evening. The win improves the Vikings' record to 3-8 while the Raiders slide to 2-11-1.

Moran scored her third goal of the season in the 26th minute, giving Salem State a 1-0 lead. Keeper Lily Pfefferle made the margin stand up through halftime as Salem State held a slight 7-5 advantage in shots.

The Raiders tied it up in the 65th minute on a Kaylee Magoon goal.

The match remained tied through the remainder of regulation and the first overtime. However, with just 11 seconds left the Vikings lined up for a corner kick. The cross set up by Sydney Durkin ended up in front of the net where Moran was able to touch it just past the goal line to seal the victory.

Pfefferle made two saves in the win while Emily Mikelson stopped five shots on net. The Vikings outshot Rivier 13-7 and held a 3-1 advantage in corners.
