Bison Stop Vikings 12-3

SALEM, Mass. – Emma Patton scored four goals and added two assists and Makala Dube netted three goals to lead Nichols to a 12-3 win over Salem State at Alumni Field on Wednesday evening. The Bison improve to 6-0 while the Vikings go to 4-2.

Aislinn Bennett led Salem State with two goals while Laura Young notched the other score. 

How it Happened

  • Nichols opened the game with four unanswered goals in the first, including two by Dube.
  • Bennett stemmed the Bison momentum with a goal three minutes into the second.
  • However, Paige Alexander and Patton sandwiched goals around Young's score, giving Nichols a 6-2 halftime lead.
  • The Bison outscored Salem State 4-0 in the third as Patton (twice), Sienna Reeves and Dube all found the back of the net.
  • Reeves made it 11-2 at 11:23 of the fourth before Cali Melo and Bennett exchanged goals before the end of the game. 
  • Briar Slattery (1-0) picked up the win making three saves.
  • Nora Bradley (4-2) stopped 12 shots in the loss. 
  • The Bison outshot the Vikings 37-11.

Salem State goes to Wentworth, this Saturday, March 22 for a 6:00 pm start.
