Athlete Spotlight: Jordan Turcotte

SALEM, Mass. -- This week's athlete spotlight features freshman Jordan Turcotte (Danvers, Mass.). Turcotte was named MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, after scoring eight goals in a 2-0 week for the Vikings. She tallied six goals in a 19-0 season-opening win over Albertus Magnus and added two more scores in a 15-6 victory over Elms.
Can you talk about your performance this past week that led to your player of the week award?
"I earned ROTW for my all-around offensive play. I was able to score when necessary and assist my teammates on their crucial goals. My whole team stepped up together and made keys plays to contribute to our amazing wins!"
Are there any short-term goals you'd like to accomplish this season?
"Some short-term goals I have for the season is to refine our team's ride and clears."
Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a great athlete?
"My strengths as an athlete would be communication. I feel that my team and I have been communicating effectively on offense and on defense, which is allowing us to work together well and win games."
What's the best piece of advice you've gained from your coaches?
"The best piece of advice I've gained from my coaches is to never give up and play through the clock no matter the score."
Is there an interesting fact that most people don't know about you?
"I am a lefty in everything except for lacrosse."
