Vikings Dominant in Season Opening Win Over Falcons

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Salem State opened their 2025 season with a resounding 19-0 victory in the debut of head coach Brian Wilcox on Wednesday evening. Kaylee Rich notched four goals and added three assists while Jordan Turcotte and Megan Parthum added three scores apiece in a balanced attack. The Vikings are now 1-0 while the Falcons open 0-1. This was the first shutout by the Vikings in their program's history.

Aislinn Bennett - two goals, two assists, Siobhan Smith - two goals, one assist and Olivia Henke - two goals, were all major contributors on offense.   

How it Happened

• Rich and Turcotte each had two goals as Salem State opened up a 9-0 lead in the first quarter. 
• Rich added the only goal of the second for the Vikings, who took a 10-0 lead into halftime. 
• Six unanswered goals by Salem State in the third quarter, including two from Parthum extended the lead to 16-0.
• Turcotte, Madeline Rawling and Smith capped the scoring with three goals in the fourth, making the final 19-0. 
• Nora Bradley (1-0) picked up the win in goal with five saves.
• The Vikings outshot the Falcons 35-7.  

Salem State will play their home opener on Saturday, March 1 against Elms @ 3:00 pm.
