2025 Women's Lacrosse Preview

Season Outlook
Salem State women's lacrosse team is looking forward to a fresh start and new beginning as head coach Brian Wilcox takes the reigns of the Viking women's lacrosse program as a first-year head coach. The program is starting from ground zero with installation of a new system and developing a new culture, with expectations of improving upon last year's 2-13 overall record.
The players' coachability has been exceptional and is trademark of the team thus far. The outstanding team chemistry and selfless attitudes will be the recipe for success and will carry the team far into the 2025 season. The Vikings return twelve veterans that will lead the team both on and off the field. The veterans have a great balance of talent and experience on both sides of the ball, and are on a mission to improve upon past results.
The Vikings return an experienced core in 2025, led by All-MASCAC Second Team selection, senior Savannah Scrodin (Bristol, Vt.) a three-year starter, who was top-15 in the league with 20 caused turnovers while compiling 25 groundballs and junior Laura Young (Leominster, Mass. ), who led the team with 26 points (11g, 15a) a season ago. Senior Aislinn Bennett (Milford, Mass.) also returns and will provide another potent scorer after registering 16 goals and seven assists last season.
Captains Quote
2025 captains: Samantha Rowe (Peabody, Mass.), Meg Parthum (Marblehead, Mass.), Savannah Scrodin (Bristol, Vt.), and Angelina Follis (Saugus, Mass.)
"The captains are highly invested in the program and have established a culture of dedication and commitment to the team. We are like having four assistant coaches and bring exceptional leadership both on and off the field."
Coach's Take
"Despite low roster numbers and a very young team, the team's goal is to be competitive and contend in all seventeen games in 2025. If the players can stay healthy and trust the process, the Vikings have aspirations to play our way out of the MASCAC cellar and have an impact in the MASCAC conference tournament."
