SALEM, Mass. -- Sydney Vautour registered a goal and an assist as Worcester State posted a 3-1 victory over Salem State at Rockett Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Lancers improve to 6-5 on the season while the Vikings dip to 3-9.
How it Happened:
- Fiona Hatton accounted for the only scoring in the first period as her power play goal gave Worcesster State a 1-0 lead at the 18:46 mark of the period.
- Emily Johns put home a rebound early in the second, increasing the Lancers lead to 2-0.
- Vautour then beat goalie Delaney Cox with a wrister from the slot at 18:39 of the second to make the score 3-0.
- Brooke Dineen picked up a rebound a went top-shelf to put Salem State on the board just over a minute into the third, making the score 3-1.
Inside the Numbers:
- Kelsey Czerniawski (5-1) earned the win making 28 saves.
- Delaney Cox (1-6) stopped 37 shots in the loss.
- Cailey Ryan had two assists for the Lancers.
