Panthers Beat Vikings 3-0

SALEM, Mass. -- Plymouth State recorded a 3-0 win over Salem State on Tuesday evening at Rockett Arena. The Panthers scored in each period to improve their record to 3-2. The Vikings are now 1-5.
How it Happened:
- Salem State goalie Delaney Cox kept the Vikings in it early as she was tested on multiple occasions in the first period by Plymouth State, who twice had 2-on-1 opportunities, but were denied by Cox.
- Karlee Lehner broke the stalemate with a wrister that beat Cox blocker side late in the first.
- Salem State killed off an early 5-on-3 power play by the Panthers in the second, but Laura Castronova's extened the lead for the Panthers with :25 seconds remaining in the second.
- Emily DeSimone then iced the game with a third period goal, making the final 3-0.
Inside the Numbers:
- Karlee Lehner (3-0) picked up the shutout in net making 16 saves.
- Delaney Cox (0-2) recorded 38 saves for the Vikings
- The Panthers racked up a 41-16 shot advantage
- Salem State has been shutout in back-to-back games.
