Salve Regina Defeats Salem State 3-1

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. -- Salve Regina completed the two-game series sweep with a 3-1 victory over Salem State on Saturday afternoon at Howard Rink. Riley Esposito notched two goals to help the Seahawks improve to 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC). The Vikings are now 1-2 and 0-2 in conference.

How it Happened:

  • Esposito gave Salve Regina a 1-0 lead just 1:27 into the first as the Seahawks exited the period with a 1-0 lead.
  • Esposito made it 2-0 at the 12:43 mark of the second as Salve Regina held a 14-5 advantage in shots over the first two periods.
  • Emily Wroblewski extended the lead to 3-0 at 8:24 of the third before Ginger Osgood broke the shutout with her first collegiate goal.

Inside the Numbers:

  • Wroblewski had a goal and two assists for Salve Regina.
  • Krzywulak made eight saves for the Seahawks to pick up her first win of the season (1-0).
  • Samantha Jaworski stopped 20 shots for Salem State.
