BIDDEFORD, Maine – Jacqueline Sindoris tallied the only score in Salem State's 4-1 loss to the University of New England Nor'easters on Tuesday evening at Harold Alfond Forum.
Kenady Nevicosi scored her team-leading seventh goal of the year at the 6:39 mark of the first period to give UNE and early lead. Sindoris tied the game for the Vikings a minute later on an unassisted tally. The Nor'easters(6-1-1) went into the first intermission in front 2-1 as Marykate Drinkwater found Jessie Scott for a goal in the closing seconds.
Drinkwater added a goal of her own with 8:32 to play in the second period. Tatum Gietl scored in the final minute of the frame to make the score 4-1. Nevicosi added helpers on each of the final two goals and finished with three points on the night.
UNE controlled play from the opening face-off and held a 35-19 advantage in shots. Julia Benjamin made 18 saves on the night while Isabelle Woodward added 31 for Salem State (2-5).
