SALEM, Mass. -- Salem State picked up a 7-0 victory over Curry in their season opener in the debut for head coach Nate LaChance at The Central Campus Tennis Courts on Thursday. Quentin Wilkins won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles and teamed with Mark Wood at first doubles for a 6-1 victory. The Vikings open 1-0 while Curry slips to 0-7.

Mark Wood defeated Maitreya Abend, 6-2, 6-2 at second singles while Josh Gruber earned a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Jake Perrotte at third singles. Rookie Lachlan Hall earned his first collegiate win with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout over Leo Katz. The Colonels forfeited matches at No. 5 and No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.  

Michael Muttiah/Gruber defeated Abend/Katz, 6-1 at second doubles.
