Vikings Make it Two Straight with Win Over Terriers
Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass. - Men's tennis notched their second win in a row after defeating the Terriers from Thomas College by a tally of 6-3 to improve to 2-5 on the season, while dropping the Terriers to 4-2.
Cory Cherico (Winthrop, Mass.) and Mark Wood (Lynn, Mass.) would notch the Vikings' first point in the number one spot after defeating their counterpart, 8-4, before Quentin Wilkins (Hamilton, Mass.) and Kevin Merino-Reyes (Billerica, Mass.) would secure the number two spot victory to give the Vikings two out of the three doubles' victories.
The Vikings would find success in singles play after Wilkins came out victorious in the one spot (6-3,6-1) followed by Cherico in the two spot (6-3,6-2). Wood and Josh Gruber (Townsend, Mass.) would also find success against the Terriers in singles to help lead their team to the overall 6-3 victory.
The Vikings look to keep their streak alive this Saturday, April 12 when they welcome Castleton to Bass River Tennis Club in Beverly, Massachusetts. The match is set to start at noon.
