Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass. - Men's tennis pulled off a sweep of Lesley University in their Wednesday night matchup, winning all doubles and singles matches for a 9-0 victory. The Vikings notched their first win of the season to bump their record to 1-5.

Salem State set the tone in doubles, securing clean sweeps (8-0, 8-0) in all three spots to take the 3-0 lead to head into singles.

The Vikings momentum would carry into singles play when Quentin Wilkins (Hamilton, Mass.), Cory Cherico (Winthrop, Mass.), Mark Wood (Lynn, Mass.), and Michael Muttiah (Colombo, Sri Lanka) all defeated their counterparts in two sets without giving up a single point (6-0,6-0). Overall, the Vikings would only allow three total points during singles to guide them to the 9-0 victory.

The Vikings are back in action today, April 11 when they take on Thomas. The match is set to start at 5p.m. at Manchester Tennis Club in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts.
