Rhode Island College Wins 7-2 Over Salem State
PROVIDENCE, R.I.-- Salem State lost 7-2 to Rhode Island College in their Little East opener on Saturday at the RIC Tennis Center. The Anchormen go to 4-1 and 1-0 in the LEC. The Vikings remain winless at 0-3 and 0-1 in conference.
Quentin Wilkins / Cory Cherico (SSU) picked up an 8-7 win at first doubles over Josh Brien / Jack Cadden. Cherico also won his first singles match with a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Brien at 2nd singles. Noah Morin outlasted Wilkins, 6-4, 4-6, 11-9 at 1st singles. Rhode Island College swept 3rd through 6th singles play in straight sets as Elijah Gouin beat Mark Wood, 6-1, 6-1 at 3rd singles and Jack Cadden topped Kevin Merino-Rivas, 6-2, 6-1 at 4th singles.
