West Hartford, Conn. -- St. Joseph's (Conn.) handed Salem State their second loss of the season, winning 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Elizabeth Ferry Speer Tennis Complex. The Blue Jays go to 3-4 while the Vikings dip to 0-2.

St. Joe's cruised through doubles play winning first and third doubles by shutout.  Brett Hodas / Ryan Boucher defeated Cory Cherico / Kevin Merino-Rivas, 8-2 at second doubles for the sweep.

Quentin Wilkins and Cory Cherico each lost in the the third set after winning the opening set in 1st and 2nd singles respectively. Wilkins won 6-4 over Christian Kaverud before losing, 6-2, 1-0 while Cherico won 7-6, before losing 6-1, 1-0. Tyler Hussey defeated Kevin Merino-Rivas, 6-0, 6-2 at 3rd singles.
