Prince's Second Half Hat-Trick Drives Vikings to 3-0 Win Over Lancers

WORCESTER, Mass. --  Kendy Prince (Medford, Mass.) scored three second half goals as the Vikings overwhelmed Worcester State 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at John F. Coughlin Memorial Field. Prince, who now has 17 goals on the year, is tied for third on Salem State's freshman scoring list, while his 1.55 goals per game average currently leads the nation. The Vikings (9-5, 5-0) posted their seventh shutout this season and have not allowed a goal to a conference opponent this year, outscoring their MASCAC opposition 12-0 in five games.

Prince's first goal came off a penalty kick after Andy Ramirez (Waltham, Mass.) committed a foul in the box. His next two came off feeds from sophomore, Aaron O'Toole (Quincy, Mass.) as both shots stuck into the lower left side of the net. The Lancers (3-6-1, 2-3) had two solid opportunities to put points on the board but were unable to convert either into goals. Kristi Shore (Korce, Albania) had a header early in the second half that went right into the hands of Salem State goalkeeper, Matt Hauntsman (Milford, N.H.). Santino Romeo (Sutton, Mass.) had a breakaway down the field, but was tripped up and unable to get a shot off.

Hauntsman recorded five saves on the day, while Ramirez stopped three shots.
