Kendy Prince’s Four Goals Lead Vikings to 5-0 Win Over Lesley

BOSTON, Mass. -- Freshman Kendy Prince (Medford, Mass.) scored a first half hat-trick enroute to a four-goal afternoon as the Salem State Vikings blanked the Lesley Lynx 5-0 at BB&N Field in Boston. Prince's four goals are the most by a Salem State player since Rafael Santos scored four times against Daniel Webster in 2011. Anibal Mazrrani holds the current Salem State mark with five goals against UMass Dartmouth in 1999.

Prince opened the scoring on a cross from Damon Deocleciano (Lowell, Mass.) in the 11th minute. Aaron O'Toole (Quincy, Mass.) set up Kendy's second score as he threaded a pass to the freshman, who broke past the defense and easily beat keeper, Josiah Williams (Salem, N.C.). Prince scored the trifecta in the 35th minute, converting a turnover in the box for a 3-0 Salem State lead.

The Vikings held a distinct 12-1 advantage in shots in the first half and had a 6-0 margin in corners.

Prince kept up his career day in the second half, knocking in a header from O'Toole for the sophomore's second assist of the day, and culminating in a 4-0 lead in the 58th minute for the Vikings. Jaylin Cordes (Winthrop, Mass.) scored his first career goal in the 88th minute, making the final 5-0.

Leith Khan (Shrewsbury, Mass.) made one stop in the win in goal for Salem State. Williams finished with four saves for the Lynx, who were outshot 21-2 for the game.
