Athlete Spotlight: Fisher Gadbois

SALEM, Mass. -- This week's athlete spotlight features freshman Fisher Gadbois (Danvers, Mass.), who earned Little East Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week honors, after going off for five goals and three assists in the Vikings' 21-3 rout of Albertus Magnus Saturday, finding the back of the net on all, but two of his seven total shots taken. He also caused two turnovers and picked up a pair of ground balls in the win over the Falcons. Gadbois opened his collegiate career with two assists in Salem State's season-opening setback to St. Joseph's (Maine).  

Can you talk about your performance this past week that led to your player of the week award?

"Every game I play I just try to play with a clear mind and play freely." 

Are there any short-term goals you'd like to accomplish this season?

"I would like to be the Rookie of the Year in the LEC."

Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a great athlete?

"I just love lacrosse. I am constantly playing with my little brother always having fun."

Is there a coach/athlete or someone outside of sports that you look up to as a role model?

"I look up to my dad. He pushes me to be the best athlete I can be no matter what."

What's the best piece of advice you've gained from your coaches?

"To leave your luggage at the door when your playing. If you bring all your problems onto the field you wont be at your best."

How would your coaches and teammates describe you?

"Loud."

Is there an interesting fact that most people don't know about you?

"I have two dogs."

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of sports?

"Skiing and just hanging with my family."
