Plymouth State Outlasts Salem State 8-5

PLYMOUTH, N.H. -- Salem State tied their season-high with five goals, but Plymouth State exploded for six unanswered scores, to skate past the Vikings 8-5 in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) match at Hanaway Rink. The Panthers extend their win-streak to 11 games and remain unbeaten in the conference (12-0) awhile moving to 15-3-1 overall. Salem State is now 3-15-1 and 1-11 in conference.

Erik Larsson opened the scoring for the Vikings as Salem State jumped out to a 3-1 first period lead. Following a goal by Plymouth State's Myles Abbate, Landyn Greatorex and Keagan O'Donoghue added back-to-back scores, giving the Vikings a two-goal lead after one.

Chris Dowd made it 4-1 with a power-play goal early in the second, but the Panthers exploded for five straight goals to take a 6-4 lead. Rider McCallum scored twice during the run that also saw goals scored by Ethan  Stuckless, Niks Krollis and Matt Tartaglio. Payton Schaly extended the run with a goal at 3:11 of the third. Connor Woolley ended the streak with a power-play goal for Salem State. An empty-netter closed the scoring, making the final 8-5.

Brendahn Brawley made 23 saves in the win while starter Hunter Thomas stopped 34 shots for the Vikings before being replaced by Dean Hahn, who made 11 saves over the final 16:35.
