Men's Ice Hockey Head Coach Bill O'Neill Receives William French Award

BOSTON -- Congratulations to Salem State men's ice hockey head coach Bill O'Neill for receiving the Boston University Athletic Hall of Fame William French Award.

O'Neill, now in his 39th season as head coach for the Salem State men's ice hockey program, received the William French Award, presented to a Terrier who has distinguished himself or herself in the coaching profession in the past year. Last season, O'Neill earned his 600th career victory last season and he ranks third among active Division III coaches in wins.

O'Neill was a four-year defenseman for the Terriers from 1975-79 and was a member of their 1979 NCAA National Championship Team.
