PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Junior Brian Cannata leads the field after the opening round of the Fall 2021 MASCAC Men's Golf Championship at the Berkshire Hills Country Club in Pittsfield, Mass. hosted by MCLA.

The championship originally a two day, 36-hole stroke play tournament was limited to nine holes today due to weather. Cannata finished the day even (37, E), the only player in the field to shoot even, to spreahead the Vikings hold on top of the team standings. Ethan Doyle (40, +3), Danny DiLisio (40, +3) and Travis Ryan (41, +4) all finished in the top-ten heading into Tuesday's final round.

Cannata, who added a birdie, leads Mitchell's Mike McCarthy by two strokes, with six other players within shouting distance at three strokes back in the individual race. Salem State (+10) has a seven stroke lead over Mitchell in the team championship standings.
