Salem State Claims MASCAC Preview Team Title, Godbout Earns Medalist Honors

PITTSFIELD, Mass.  Salem State claimed the 2021 MASCAC Preview team title behind the strong play of Matthew Godbout, who shot a tournament best (75) to claim medalist honors. It is the first individial championship for Godbout. The Vikings finished with a team score of 313, outpacing runner-up Westfield State by nine strokes. Mitchell College took third place with a team score of 331. The event was hosted by the Berkshire Hills Country Club.

Godbout held off Vikings' teammate Ethan Doyle and Westfield's J.J. Newcombe and Brandon Smith, who each finished with a (76) at the par-72 course.

Danny DiLisio (79), Matt Martin (83) and Ryan O'Leary (97) all contributed to the win with solid performances as all three finished in the top-18.
