Bio

Coach McCune enters his second year as a member of the Salem State University mens basketball coaching staff. He is a veteran of the Massachusetts high school coaching ranks serving 33 years as head boys basketball coach at St Clement HS (1982-88), Wilmington HS (1989-2009), and Malden Catholic HS (2011-2019). Coach McCune’s teams won 439 times in his 33 years including 10 League Championships and earning 29 Massachusetts State Tournament appearances. Coach McCune has received several MBCA and Media Outlet Coach of the Year awards and was inducted into the Wilmington High School Athletic Hall Of Fame in 2010. 

Coach McCune is happily retired and lives in Somerville MA with his wife of 37 years Sharon. They have two sons, Jimmy (Harvard 2014) and Matthew (Salem State 2021).
