Byrne's Brothers Live Out Dream on Court Together

Division III Week is a positive opportunity for all individuals associated with Division III to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on the campus and surrounding community. During the week, every Division III school and conference office is encouraged to conduct a type of outreach activity that falls into one of three categories: academic accomplishment; athletic experience; or leadership/community service/campus involvement.

Salem State continues its celebration of Division III Week with a featured spotlight on men's basketball senior twins Conner and Jarret  Byrne and their brother sophomore Liam.

"Being able to play college basketball as three brothers is something that all three of us will cherish forever. We, first, got the opportunity to play together at Matignon High School for two seasons, but once we graduated high school we didn't expect to share the court again in a meaningful setting. When Conner and I decided to attend Salem State, Liam was also at the point where he was finishing high school and looking into colleges as well. Salem State was on his list of schools to attend. It was coach Harvey, and Salem State, that gave us the opportunity to share the court again for another two years and we will be forever grateful for that."

"Our experiences playing together has only produced good memories. These memories date all the way back to playing in the driveway. Those days of competing in the driveway brought out our competitive nature, which would, sometimes, makes its way into practice. Over the years, we all have developed different strengths that would make us each bring something different to a basketball team. Our greatest memories will probably come from the times where we were able to all be on the court at the same time."
