Seahawks Score 6-0 Victory Over Vikings

SALEM, Mass. – Six different players scored for Salve Regina as the Seahawks rolled to a 6-0 win over Salem State in the Vikings' home opener on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field. Julia Decker and Natalie Vaughan each had a goal and an assist for Salve Regina, who are now 3-0 on the year. Salem State slips to 0-2. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Seahawks broke open a close game in the second quarter, exploding for five goals after a scoreless first period. 
  • Starter Bryn Protheroe earned the win in goal, playing three quarters without facing a shot. Madi Allard played the final 15 minutes.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Siobhan Smith and Laura McVeigh each had a defensive save for the Vikings.
  • Izzy Mosley stopped 17 shots on goal for Salem State
  • The Seahawks racked up 25 shots on goal in the contest.
