Division III Week Spotlight: Brahiam Ortega
Division III Week is a positive opportunity for all individuals associated with Division III to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on the campus and surrounding community. During the week, every Division III school and conference office is encouraged to conduct a type of outreach activity that falls into one of three categories: academic accomplishment; athletic experience; or leadership/community service/campus involvement.
Salem State continues its celebration of Division III Week with a featured spotlight on men's baseball player Brahiam Ortega and his experience to give back as a Salem State student-athlete.
How would you describe the experience of being able to give back to the local community while being a student-athlete at Salem State?
"The experience of being able to give back to the local community while being a student-athlete at Salem State University was a wonderful, grateful and blessed feeling. Being able to get the opportunity to give back to the local community is what it's all about. I have looked forward to every moment when we had the chance to do so."
