KEENE, N.H. -- Troy Brennan pitched four innings of scoreless relief, striking out four to earn the win, as Keene State edged Salem State 4-3 at the Owl Athletic Complex on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls are now 6-10 while the Vikings slip to 2-11.

Ryan Bourgeois got Salem State's offense going early with a two-run single to left in the top of the first. However, Jonathan Chatfield launched a three-run home to right center in the third to put the Owls ahead to stay. Keene State added a run in the fifth on a passed ball to take a two-run lead. Jake Boucher, who went 2-for-4, scored on a wild pitch in the eighth, but the  the Vikings could not plate the tying run as Shea Zina earned the save, pitching two innings in relief to secure the victory.

Jake Usenia started for Salem State and gave up three runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and a walk. Patrick McKeighan started for the Owls and did not factor in the decision after allowing two runs on five hits with a pair of strikeouts.

Chatfield finished 2-for-3 with a double, home run, two runs scored and three RBI for Keene State.
