Bio

Prior to joining Salem State University in 1990 Professor McGee spend four years in the U. S. Navy,  and accumulated almost fifteen years of experience in public and private accounting before joining academia.   His teaching interests include financial accounting, tax, and auditing and recently published on the International Financial Reporting Standards. 

Paul has served as NCAA Faculty Athletic Representative since 2004 and served as conference chair in 2006.  He has also served on many committees at Salem State including most recently All College, Co-Chair NEASC Faculty Standards Committee, and Chair Accounting Faculty Search Committee.  He served six years as chair of the Accounting/Finance department. 

Paul  has been a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) for thirty-five years and has been a longstanding contributor to its Academic and Career Development Committee  On May 19, 2010 Paul received the Career Achievement Award for Excellence in Accounting Education from the MSCPA.  Paul is also a member of the American Accounting Association, Massachusetts Association of Accounting Professors, honorary member Delta Mu Delta and a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Salem State Chapter.

Paul is an alumnus of Bentley College, earning a BS degree in accounting, and a Master degree in Finance.  He became licensed as a CPA in 1980.
