Nesta was selected as a National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) regional All-American and All-New England performer her senior year in 1982. 

An outstanding defender, who served as a team captain her senior year, she helped lead the Lady Vikings to SSC’s second-ever Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) championship, the program’s first ever NCAA Division 3 tournament appearance and a final record of 17-3.

Nesta, who was a three time All MASCAC performer, helped the 1980 squad capture the program’s first ever MASCAC title.
