James Wouralis joined Salem State in August of 2025 after a year as the Sports Information Director at Lesley University, where he served as the primary contact for all sports.

During his time with the Lynx, Wouralis helped prepare game recaps along with season and playoff previews as well. He also helped assist with the athletics social media presence by creating different designs for gameday posts along with conference awards. Wouralis helped curate a feature story regarding a women's basketball student-athlete who was the first women's basketball student-athlete in NCAA history to score a basket in regulation. Her story was picked up in numerous news outlets including the Boston Globe, CNN, and NBC News

Before joining Lesley, Wouralis worked at Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union as the Marketing and Communications Specialist. In that role, he developed compelling marketing copy to advertise current promotions and services. He also designed engaging content and visuals for social media campaigns and email blasts, presenting complex financial information in easily understood terms and graphics.

Before joining the credit union, Wouralis worked at various schools, including Stonehill College, Wake Forest University, UMass Lowell, Anna Maria College, and Endicott College. During his time at Stonehill, he was responsible for 11 sports, generated gameday graphics and player of the week graphics, and managed the main athletics social media accounts. He was also responsible for writing game recaps and season/playoff previews and helped conduct a variety of video interviews.

Prior to Stonehill, Wouralis served as a Sports Information Intern at Wake Forest. He was responsible for stat-keeping for the men's and women's soccer and field hockey teams. He also assisted on football game days and helped with various gameday tasks, including social media, game recaps, and stats. He also contributed a feature story on a former Wake Forest football student-athlete highlighting his motivations for playing college football.

Wouralis also worked as a Sports Information Intern with UMass Lowell before Wake Forest. During his time in Lowell, Wouralis Utilized NCAA LiveStats for the following sports: men's and women's basketball and hockey. He helped write, edit, design, and produce media guides, programs, graphics, videos, publications, and press releases, such as baseball feature stories highlighting one student-athletes charity work. Other responsibilities included contributing to various social media content on all athletics social media channels and helping maintain the UMass Lowell website via SIDEARM Sports website software.

In the summer of 2019, he was named the Assistant Sports Information Director at Anna Maria College. He was the primary contact for field hockey, men's soccer, women's ice hockey, women's basketball, women's lacrosse, and softball while utilizing PrestoStats for stat-keeping. He contributed content to the AMCATS website, such as the monthly Coaches' Corner series. During COVID-19, he helped facilitate the Looking Back series that focused on student-athletes and the impact of the pandemic. During his time in Paxton, Mass., Wouralis helped increase Anna Maria's social media numbers across all platforms: 23 percent (545 new followers) on Twitter and more than doubled their engagement rate (1.4 percent up to 3.9 percent), 31 percent (460 new followers) on Instagram (41st out of all New England NCAA colleges and 268th in all Division Ill colleges), Facebook grew by 21.2 percent (199 new likes) which ranked sixth for all New England NCAA colleges, and 26th in all Division Ill colleges. During game days, Wouralis set up the broadcasts and generated highlights via iMovie. Before the games, Wouralis created gameday programs using Adobe InDesign.

Wouralis got his start in the sports information field with an internship at Endicott College, where he served as an athletic communications intern. At Endicott, he served as the primary contact for both men's and women's tennis and men's and women's cross country. He inputted rosters and schedules via PrestoSports and created highlight videos with iMovie. He also helped with the production of game day programs in Adobe InDesign.
