He also served as the Medical Director of the Athletic Training Program and was instrumental in the founding of the Bachelor’s Degree, and now Masters of Athletic Training Degree.

Born and raised in Salem, Massachusetts. He was a three-sport athlete at St. John's Prep and then on to Harvard. As the 100th captain of football at Harvard, and a two-time NCAA Baseball College World Series participant, he was exposed to many pioneers in the sports medicine field. This sparked his interest in the field of sports medicine. His tenure as Chief Resident at New England Baptist Hospital and Fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston provided excellent background in both sports medicine and joint replacement, the common outcome of earlier joint injuries. These two areas are the main focus of his orthopedic practice. Dr St. Pierre spent twenty-five years as the team physician for many area high schools, including St. John's Prep, Salem High School, and Danvers High School.
