Salem State’s Late Goal Downs Men’s Ice Hockey

SALEM, Mass. – The Framingham State men's ice hockey team put up a strong fight but ultimately fell 3-2 to Salem State in conference action on Thursday night. 

THE BASICS: 

  • Final Score: Salem State 3, Framingham State 2 

  • Records: Framingham State (2-17-2, 1-12-1), Salem State (15-6, 11-4) 

  • Location: Rockett Arena – Salem, Mass. 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

1st Period:  

  • Framingham State struck first just 1:21 into the game, as Samuel Larkin found the back of the net off an assist from Brent Scott. 

  • Salem State responded late in the period, tying the game at 18:41 with a goal from Keagan O'Donoghue, assisted by Landyn Greatorex and Declan Loughnane. 

2nd Period: 

  • The Vikings took their first lead at 5:03 when Henry Wilson put one past the goaltender, giving Salem State a 2-1 advantage. 

3rd Period: 

  • Framingham State battled back early in the third, tying the game at 2-2 at 2:16 on a goal from Kaleb Kinskey. 

  • Salem State regained the lead for good at 12:00, as Rais Francis netted the game-winner off assists from Mitch Wilkie and Davis Kinne.

Salem State:
