ARLINGTON, Mass. -- Salem State picked up their second win of the season with a 7-2 victory over the Lynx on Thursday afternoon. Anastasia Startseva and Alexandria Floyd picked up wins at first and second singles to help the Vikings improve to 2-6. The Lynx remain winless at 0-8.

Startseva beat Brooke Whitten 6-1, 6-0 at first singles while Floyd picked up a 6-3, 6-1 victory at second singles over Morgan Anderson. Samantha Tenney and Abbie Laliberte followed with wins at third and fourth singles with Tenney defeating Joselyn Martinez 6-3, 4-6 and 10-2 and Laliberte winning 6-1, 6-4 over Annie Dai. Cassie Liu earned a point at sixth singles for Salem State with a 6-0, 6-3 defeat of Jordan Blair.  

The Vikings earned wins at first and second doubles. Startseva / Floyd easily dispatched Whitten / Anderson 8-0 at first doubles. Martinez / Dai battled Tenney / Laliberte to a tie-breaker set at second doubles, but the Vikings' pair pulled out the victory as Salem State took two-of-three doubles matches.
