SALEM, Mass. -- Salem State defeated Regis 8-1 in a non-confernece match on Saturday afternoon at the Central Campus Tennis Courts. The Vikings led by Anastasia Startseva (Volksburg, Russia) and Alexandria Floyd (Burlington, Mass.), who recorded wins at first doubles and first and second singles respectively, took all three doubles matches enroute to the easy win. Startseva / Floyd won 8-2 over Carly Donovan (Harwich, Mass.) / Kaitlyn Colby (Merrimac, Mass.).  Hannah Dahrouge (South Hadley, Mass.) and Caroline Robitaille (South Hadley, Mass.) defeated Kaeleigh FitzPatrick (South Windsor, Conn.) / Stephanie Beatrice (Rockland, Mass.), 8-4. The Pride defaulted at third doubles.

Startseva and Floyd won at first and second singles, respectively. Startseva won a third tie-breaker set after splitting the first two sets (6-1, 4-6) against Donovan. Floyd topped Colby 6-3, 6-1 and Robitaille won 6-2, 6-2 over Beatrice at fourth singles. FitzPatrick won the only point for Regis at third singles with a 6-2, 6-2 decision over Dahrouge. Salem State won by default at fifth and sixth singles.
