Nichols Posts 4-1 Victory Over Salem State

BURRVILLE, R.I. -- Nichols skated to a 4-1 victory over Salem State on Saturday to complete a sweep of the two-game series. Ema Jaskova scored two goals for the Bison, who are now 2-0 on the year. Salem State slips to 0-2.

Jaskova opened the scoring at 6:15 of the first for the only goal of the first period. Meghan Azzato notched her first score of the year on an assist from Isabelle Besser, tying the score at 1-1 at 12:23 of the second. The Bison put the game away in the third, scoring three unanswered goals to pull away for a 4-1 win. Jaskova put home her second of the game before Kayla Currin made it a 3-1 game at the 7:33 mark. Grace Wiggett added an insurance goal for Nichols at 15:49, maiking the final 4-1.

Cassandra Valentine took the loss, making 32 saves for Salem State. McKenzie Muir earned the win for the Bison, making 15-of-16 saves. AnaMary Pulgar stopped two shots in relief. Salem State was 0-for-6 on the power play while Nichols went 1-for-5.
