Bantams Cruise Past Vikings

HARTFORD, Conn. -- Trinity posted a 7-0 victory over Salem State on Sunday evening at Williams Rink at the Koeppel Community Sports Center. Emma Robertson and Stephanie Nevers each scored a pair of goals to lead the Trinity, who evens their record at 2-2. The Vikings slide to 2-5-1.

Stephanie Nevers and Claire Kennedy scored first period goals for Trinity as the Bantams established control early, holding a 15-5 advantage in shots over the first 20 minutes. Robertson added her first goal of the game at the 1:16 mark of the second for the only score of the period. The Bantams put the game away, scoring four times in the third to pull away for an easy victory.

Martina Exnerova made it 4-0 early on the third before Robertson and Nevers added back-to-back scores just :18 seconds apart to make it a 6-0 lead. Corinne Bolding capped the scoring with a goal at the 16:05 mark of the final period.  

Hannah Leclair made 11 saves in the win while Dana Smullen had 47 stops for the Vikings, who were outshot 54-11.
