BEVERLY, Mass. – Salem State erased a 19-point halftime deficit, but Endicott used a strong fourth quarter to pull away for a 60-46 victory on Thursday night at MacDonald Gymnasium. Nicole Freddo scored eight of her team-high 12 points in the third as the Vikings used a 17-4 run to cut the deficit to just six points headinging into the fourth quarter.
Liz Zaiter, who finished with six points and five rebounds, cut the deficit to four with 8:50 remaining, but the Vikings could not pull any closer. The Gulls outscored Salem State, 19-9, to secure their tenth win (10-9) of the season.
Freddo added seven boards while Hannah Cravedi had six points and six rebounds for the Vikings. Salem State (4-14) finished 15-54 (27.8%) from the field.
Emily Pratt led the Gulls with a 17 point 10 rebound double-double, while Mikaela Rogers (Haverhill, Mass.) and Kaleigh Putnam (Wallingford, Conn.) each had 12 points, and Tara Laugeni (Woodbridge, Conn.) notched 11 points. Endicott shot 22-72 (30.6%) for the game.
