Men's Hockey Can't Solve Salem State, Fall 2-0

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The MCLA Men's Hockey team played their third game in the last six days when they took on Salem State at the Peter W. Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Ice Rink this evening. Despite getting 35 saves from Mathew Gover, the Trailblazers dropped the game to the Vikings 2-0.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Salem State opened the scoring with a goal just past the four-minute mark of the first period when Erik Larsson snuck one past the MCLA netminder. Luke Pepin and Keagan O'Donoghue were each credited with assists.
  • The Vikings were able to double their lead in the second period at the 13:32 mark when Skylar Miller found the back of the net. O'Donoghue was credited with his second assist of the night, while Zach Dill got his first.
  • MCLA's Mathew Gover finished the game with 35 saves but saw his record fall to 1-9-1. On the other end, Salem State's Hunter Thomas picked up his first win of the season, advancing to 1-1-0 thanks to a 28-save effort.
