Salem State Sweeps Lesley

MEDFORD, Mass. -- Salem State swept Lesley 3-0 on Friday evening 25-15, 25-9, and 25-8 to improve to 5-17 on the season. The Lynx slip to 0-15.

The Vikings opened up with a 25-15 victory in set one. Salem State hit .500%, led by four kills from Abigail O'Connor (Gilford, N.H.). Three aces by Pamela Diaz (Lynn, Mass.) helped stake the Vikings to an 8-1 lead. Lesley rallied to pull within 12-8, but a 10-6 spurt pushed the lead to 22-14 following a kill by O'Connor. Another kill by O'Connor and two errors closed the set for Salem State. 

The Vikings raced out to a 12-6 lead follwing a kill by Ella Speidel (Beverly, Mass.) in set two. Leading 15-9, a kill by Speidel started a 10-0 run by Salem State, highlighted by three aces from Speidel. 

The Vikings closed out the match with a 17-point win in set three. Three service aces by Speidel helped Salem State jump out to a 6-0 lead. The advantage ballooned to 11-4 after a kill by Hana Hogan (Lancaster, Calif.). Three service errors and another kill by Hogan made the score 21-7 before Dawn Eisnor (Medford, Mass.) clinced the match with her third ace.

Hogan topped the Vikings with nine digs while Speidel had eight of Salem State's 20 aces. Haralabatos had 20 assists and Michelle Le (Woburn, Mass.) seven digs.

Megan Lorenze (Concord, N.H.) led the Lynx with five kills, three aces and eight digs.
